The Engine Monitoring Switch incorporates engine monitoring hardware and firmware,
as well as an integral 10/100BASE-T Ethernet switch. The unit accepts CAN-bus and
analog inputs. The CAN-bus input uses the J1939 protocol to monitor any engine parameter
present in the vehicle's (Engine Control Unit) ECU. The analog inputs are designed to
monitor air pressures from four tanks, and fuel levels from main and auxiliary tanks.
All this data is converted to Ethernet UDP streams. Three Ethernet ports provide access
to the LAN and any other two Ethernet devices.
