Tactronics has assembled a world-class team of engineering and manufacturing professionals with a leadership that has advanced the development of tactical integrated electronic systems for over twenty (20) years. Our personnel have broad expertise in system solutions, as well as specific skills in systems design, analysis and integration, systems engineering, software development, testing and validation, and life cycle support.

Tactronics uses Integrated Product Process Development (IPPD) as its overall management process to integrate all activities from product concept through production/field support, using a multi-functional team, to simultaneously optimize the product and its manufacturing and sustainment processes to meet cost and performance objectives.

IPPD evolved from concurrent engineering, and is sometimes called integrated product development (IPD). It is a systems engineering process integrated with sound business practices and common sense decision making. One of the key tenets of IPPD is that of multidisciplinary teamwork via Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).

Tactronics’ IPTs are cross-functional teams that are formed for the specific purpose of delivering a product for an external or internal customer. IPT members have complementary skills and are committed to a common purpose, performance objectives, and approach for which they hold themselves mutually accountable. Tactronics’ IPTs are the means through which Tactronics implements IPPD.

Tactronics’ IPTs are composed of representatives from all appropriate functional disciplines working together with a team leader to build successful and balanced programs, identify and resolve issues, and make sound and timely decisions. Tactronics’ IPTs make team decisions based on timely input from the entire team (e.g., program management, engineering, manufacturing, test, logistics, financial management, procurement and contract administration) including customers and suppliers.

Once on a team, the role of an IPT member changes from that of a member of a particular functional organization, who focuses on a given discipline, to that of a team member, who focuses on a product and its associated processes. Each individual should offer his/her expertise to the team as well as understand and respect the expertise available from other members of the team. Team members work together to achieve the team's objectives.

An integral component of IPPD is the pre-deployment and post-deployment continued role of the Integrated Product Teams. Process optimization requires total life-cycle management/support. Pre-deployment functions, as determined with the customer, include IPT system configuration and full system installation. Our custom-designed tactical solutions fully integrate Tactronics’ systems and legacy systems, where applicable. This provides complete integrated functionality when we install the system within the vehicular platform.

Tactronics facilitates this function at our state-of-the-art locations or at a location of the customer’s choice. Two of our secure facilities are located in Lumberton, NC, U.S.A. and Hereford, UK. The IPT will provide training on the integrated system within the vehicular platform assuring total user functionality. This process is accomplished “hands-on”, as well as in classroom facilities. During this process, it may be determined concurrently with the customer that enhancements may be appropriate. With our open-architecture system and “enrich-as-needed” scalability, all determinations are addressed and integrated respectively into the system/platform. If additional enhancements are made, the IPT will continue with additional training. Tactronics provides every technical and educational assurance in preparation for rapid and seamless deployment.

Our rapid deployment and post-deployment sustainability are streamlined, secure and provide for the IPT to further train, as necessary. In addition, the IPT provides any on-site maintenance and monitoring as required for the continuation of Tactronics’ Integrated Product Process Development (IPPD).
