In this simplified example, a Combat NET Radio is integrated by connecting to the Serial Hub, or a network connection to the C4PC gateway. In both cases, information from the C4PC gateway enters the system and populates the C4PC software hosted on the CROW computers. Clearly, this "distributed network" approach utilizing open architecture and standards-based interfaces ensures extended life cycles for fielded C4 systems.
